Father Connors is a native of Riverside, Rhode Island and was baptized at St. Brendan’s Church. He is the only child of Joseph and Lisa Connors, life-long residents of Riverside. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School in Warwick DSC_0114in 2001, Father Connors is a 2005 graduate of Boston College with a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy.photo-52

 

Father Connors worked as a legislative aide and speechwriter in the United States Senate in Washington, DC. He studied for the priesthood at Our Lady of Providence Seminary on Mt Pleasant Avenue in Providence and at the North American College in Rome. He received a Bachelors of Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in 2011. Fr Connors was ordained a transitional deacon on 6 October 2011 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

 

Father Connors was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Rev. Thomas Tobin on 23 June 2012 at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence. He served as Associate Pastor of St. Elizabeth’s Church in Bristol for the summer of IMG_88422012 before returning to Rome to complete his studies. He studied for one semester at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland and received a Licentiate in Sacred Theology, specializing in Moral Theology, from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in June 2013. He was appointed Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Parish on 1 July 2013.DSC_0045

 

Father Connors serves as one of the editorial writers for the Rhode Island Catholic and is a frequent contribut0r there. His academic interests include the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas, the role of religion in public life, and virtue-based moral theology. He has presented papers at academic conferences and has published a number of articles on theological topics.
